Privacy Policy
Last updated 14 October 2026
Ripic builds and runs websites for local businesses in Australia. This policy explains what personal information we handle, why, and what you can do about it. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
Who we are
Ripic is a business based in Wollongong, New South Wales. You can reach us at hello@ripic.org.
What we collect
- When you ask us for a free preview on ripic.org: your name, your email address and the Google Maps link of your business.
- When you contact a business through a website we run for it (a booking, table or quote request): what you type into the form — usually your name, phone, email and the details of your request — and any photos you choose to attach.
- Visit statistics on ripic.org and on client websites: the page visited, the kind of site you came from (for example Google Search), whether you use a phone or a computer, and an anonymous identifier that changes every day. We don't use tracking cookies, and we don't store your IP address with these statistics.
- Public business information: to build a preview we read a business's public Google listing (name, address, phone, opening hours and rating) through Google's official APIs.
Your IP address is used briefly, without being stored, to protect our forms from abuse.
How we use it
- To prepare and send the preview you asked for, and to follow up about it.
- To pass your booking, table or quote request to the business you contacted.
- To show our clients how their website is performing, in totals only — never who you are.
- To keep our services secure and working.
We don't sell personal information and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- The business you contacted receives your request.
- Service providers that help us run Ripic: Hetzner (our servers, located in the European Union), Cloudflare (domain name services), Google (maps data, and AI tools we use to draft website text — we don't send them your personal information) and Telegram (instant notifications to our team). Some of these providers are outside Australia; we take reasonable steps to make sure they protect information to a standard similar to the Australian Privacy Principles.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Cookies
ripic.org and the websites we run for our clients don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Our own client dashboard uses one cookie to keep our team signed in.
How long we keep it
- Preview requests: up to 24 months, or until you ask us to delete them.
- Requests sent to a business: for as long as that business is our client, plus 12 months.
- Visit statistics: kept as daily totals; the daily anonymous identifier can't be traced back to you.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS), stored on access-controlled servers and backed up daily. Photos attached to quote requests are private to the business and our team.
Your choices
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@ripic.org. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're not happy with how we handled a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
